OUR FOUNDATIONAL BELIEFS
St. John the Evangelist is a church community in the Anglican Diocese of Huron.

Anglicanism is a Protestant Christian denomination based in the tradition of the Church of England. Anglicanism revolves around the Biblical Scriptures , the Tradition of the Church , and  Reason to help us make wise decisions, and personal and congregational experience with the Living God.

Our church is committed to living the Five Marks of Mission adopted by the Anglican Communion:

To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
To teach, baptize and nurture new believers
To respond to human need by loving service
To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

We believe all people regardless of gender identities, racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, abilities, economic circumstances and family configurations are invited to fully participate in all the sacraments of the church.
